Named after one of its local tribes, Guji is a small area in the Oromia region. The majority of the coffees grown in Ethiopia are not farmed in the same sense as other coffee-producing nations. The trees grow in the wild as they have done since before coffee was discovered. These unique conditions bring out a complex yet balanced cup profile.
This Guji is complex, beautifully fruity, and aromatic, just like our fully washed Guji, but with all those classic natural process qualities. It has floral aromatics and sweet tropical fruit notes – also present in its acidity which is medium and sweet. Other notes which are present are vanilla, cherry, and cocoa. As an espresso, you’re going to get stone fruit and cocoa which is going to turn into cheesecake as a milk-based beverage.
